The Eswatini Institute of Accountants (ESIA) is the foremost accounting body in Eswatini, representing a diverse membership of over 600 professionals across various sectors. Our members include Chartered Accountants and Registered Accountants, who contribute their expertise to maintaining the highest standards within the accounting profession. Among our members, 12% are engaged in public practice, providing essential financial expertise and services to the community.
As a full member of both the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA), ESIA upholds global standards. These affiliations ensure that our members remain connected to the latest developments and best practices within the accounting profession worldwide.
ESIA operates under a robust framework that governs the Institute’s formation and the establishment of its Council, the registration of accountants and auditors, and the enforcement of professional standards through disciplinary measures. The Council, elected every three years by Chartered Accountant members during the Annual General Meeting (AGM), provides strategic leadership for the Institute. To ensure that ESIA’s operations align with its mission, the Council meets at least once every three months.
ESIA members are recognized as Commissioners of Oaths, a testament to their credibility and authority within the legal system. To sustain professional excellence, the Institute mandates Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for all members, ensuring they remain current and proficient in their practice.
The Institute’s Structure Includes:
- A Council: The primary decision-making body, responsible for the strategic direction of the Institute.
- A Secretariat and Executive Director: The administrative team that supports the Council’s objectives
